Phuket Trip
Our respective offices [in that order] called us inquiring about work. Shite! There's nothing better than having to discuss about work with your boss during your long-awaited vacation. The pictures above are priceless!!! Azman also got a call from office on the 2nd day.
So, as a summary, we ....
- Finally got to Phuket, famous for its lady-boys and James Bond island, tuk-tuk, tsunami.
- Got 'katoked' from the hotel, Baan Sukhotai, claiming that they charge guests per head. Not per room. Mana ada hotel kat dalam donia ni yang charge ikut kepala? Kalau aku bawak family aku 5 orang, takkan suma kena tambah extra 1000 baht? Bodoh punya orang Siam. Eventhough the room is to die for, i wont stay there next time. By the way, did you know that Patong actually means 'katok' in Thai? [no, i just made that up]
- For the first time in my life, i got the chance to ride a Toyota Camry and Altis. Shit, they're using these cars as taxis!!
- Got a cool brader, Mr Sam who took us sightseeing Phuket town and the likes.
- Never go holiday on a peak season
- Always bring extra cash.
- Travel light
- Foreigners also berpuak2. At Patong Beach, they put their country flags together in clusters. Americans, Britain, Canadians together. Then the Scandinavians [Norway, Sweden, Denmark] in another cluster.
- Malaysia should follow the way Thais promote their country to tourists. Ok, tolak tepi the booze and skin business. Thai always have something good to say about what their country has to offer. Not to mention their attention to detail. And confidence when conversing in halting English. Their mat rempits work part time as mobile-people-carrier [bawak tourist naik motor rempit derang pusing2 town]
- Barang2 mahal gila nak mampus. Our Subway Sandwich lunch costs us RM90++. Katok!
- There's a spa, Island Spa charging customers equivalent of RM200++ where for the same thing you'll be charged RM600 in Malaysia. Mr Sam told us Koreans like to fly in the mornings, enjoy spa and go back to Korea later that day. Talking about citizens of the world
- Dah, aku bagi gambar bercerita pulak
- Oh yeah, me and Azman bungy jumped!!!!! Imagine raw, primal fear and that's how you feel upon jumping. If you've experienced Genting's Space Shot, multiply it by 100 times. When the instructor said 321 jump, i jumped. After jumping then only i realised what a stupid decision that was. I moaned similar to menangis because you're freefalling although there's this gigantic getah keeping you from abiding by the rules of gravity. Later that day, i was watching I Am Legend i kept getting images of me falling down. Honestly, i do not want to bungy jump again. But if you offer me RM10 million i might just do it. Naked.

Loser No 1 kepada Loser No 2
Bob - Engku Mohd Sabri. Terengganu guy, cool + humble person. Hisap rokok Suria always. During our final semester in Uni, he had this Dutch student as his roommate. Being Bob, he just ignores the Dutch guy, Dick and smokes like a chimney. Poor Dick.
After class, we all main bola. U know the Malaysian amateurs way of playing football? 20+ ppl on one side each, with a netball post as our goal. His favourite movie line is from Notting Hill where Julia Roberts said to Hugh Grant, "I'm just a little girl, standing in front a little boy, asking him to love her". Heheheh now that's how the 'loser' term came up. Both of us was quite lagging in the chase-the-girls department. So there you have it, him Loser no 1, me Loser no 2.

But then he defied the odds by: 1) became slim. 2) got married to a girl from Muar.

So everytime, [both of us like to play in defence], he always passes the ball to me while saying, "Loser 1 kepada Loser 2!!!!!"] while talking like Senor Hasbullah Awang commentating on a local football match.
Norman: "Wei, pe citer?"
Me: "Good good, long time no hear...Ko kat Kl ke Lumut?"
Norman: "Lumut, wei...bob ganu kawin esok tau?"
Me: "Oh shit, finally!!! Oh shit, apsal dia tak panggil aku?"
[this came from the guy, after our final exam hugged me with tears in his eyes and said, "Man U masuk final Champions League mung mai Penang, kite tengok sama2". "Nanti mung mai Penang kita tengok citer Troy sekali". editor's note : Man U failed to enter the CL final that year and Fadzli did not manage to go to Penang to watch Troy with Bob.
Ali questioned me on whether i would shed a tear if i go far away from himself. Ali answered, "Takkan ko nangis kot, pasal ko mesti jumpa aku hari2 nyer...". Ladies and gentlemen, that's what i call brotherhood.
So me and Ali n Norman went to Muar, Johor to attend Bob's wedding. I guess us the single guys are one endangered species cos most of our frens are already hitched or waiting for their 2nd child. Arrived and makan. Went sightseeing and being me, who loves to snap pics of old architecture, i cannot stop jadi jakun. (kat Phuket pun jadi jakun gak, tapi later on that).
After pusing2 around Muar town, we decided to lepak at one of the kopitiams there. Old Street Kopitiam. Got WiFi and all...Norman even logged in to his Facebook, gilo2...But they served us Nescafe. I swear to God it's nescafe. Bukan white coffee. Norman proposed we go and drive along coastal and kampung roads on the way to tasik Kenyir, camp there. Sounds delicious bro.
Congratulations Sabri and Sabrina. Wedding aku datang ye?

Just a manic Monday
Bliss!!! Why?
- Man U [so cliche, sigh] menang vs Liverpool. Kudos to the Kop cos they really dominated the game. Twice absent-minded van der sar nearly cost united goals.
- Angah bought me a new drum stick bag. Memang uber-licious i tell you. With pinup buttons + color funky dee funky doo.
- I donno why, but i love going to office on Mondays. Monday's blues does not really affect me. Bukan berlagak, i just like going to office. Next month am going to buy new office chair, IKEA punya.
- I Am Legend is scary, sedih, setan betul.. The Heartbreak Kid is OK, i always liked Ben Stiller. Oh yeah, went for a movie marathon watched these 2 movies. The bomb!! Wanted to watch Alvin n Chipmunks tapi kurang larat.
- Bought a book written by a Yahudi, Thomas Friedman - "From Beirut to Jerusalem". Gives readers insight from the Muslim world and he non-Muslim minds. Sheesh, "Would you like to eat now or wait after the ceasefire?". Scary man. Makes you dont want things like Hindraf or Bersih demo.
- Have a good week guys..I'll leave you with this brilliant song. The intro itself makes me swing to the music.[hayun kepala ikut lagu], whatever. Blues is alright with me. Tak tgk My Chemical Romance pun takpe
.
